Youth Against the Empire. 12/01/09
We're very pleased to kick of our releases for the new year with the anthemic debut single from Parisian art-punk trio King Of Conspiracy. ‘Youth Against the Empire’ is a kick to the throat of just about everything - part intellectual-salon, part youth movement, the song is an uncompromisingly DIY blaze of frenetic vocals, ingeniously off-kilter guitar lines, and fractious dance floor drums.
Available to download from all online retailers, and also on a very limited edition CD with two extra tracks, from 2nd March '09.
'filled with originality, energy and entertainment' Altsounds
'will have your head spinning off your shoulders' Punk Globe

CityLights debut EP is now out on PowWow Records. 'Mashed on Fashion' sounds better than ever and new song 'The Tale of the Fool and the Fox' is all jangly off-beat guitars, descending melodies, and bleeping synths. The NME called it 'chirpy', so why not treat yourself to one of the limited edition run of CDs this Xmas by heading over HERE.
And Foxes! have a fantastic new split 7" out on webzine SoundsXP's label early next year, so do keep an eye out for detail's posted over at the band's mypace page HERE. And while you're over there you'd be most foolish not to grab yourself a free download of their 'Christmas Songs' EP.
What's Happening? 10/09/08
While we've been pushing figures around a spreadsheet and plotting industry domination (more to follow soon), the bands from the compilation have also been busy . . .
CityLights release their debut single ‘Mashed on Fashion’, a vastly superior reworking of the track included on the compilation, on 29th September with uber-trendy Manchester label PowWow. There's a launch night at Junction7 in Nottingham on 27th September.
Team Waterpolo have just signed to Sony imprint Epic and plan to release their debut album in 2009. Their next single ‘So Called Summer’ is to be recorded at the countryside studio used by Alex Turner for his Mercury shortlisted The Last Shadow Puppets, and they have just announced the dates for their biggest UK headline tour - visit their artist page to find a venue near you.
Foxes! will be playing at The Prince Albert in Brighton on Saturday 13th September. It’s an afternoon show (2pm-5pm) so please don’t turn up at 7.30pm only to be disappointed by the lack of tangible excitement in the air and grumpy bouncers. Also playing are Labasheeda and Ripping Yarns. More info HERE.
And Lights and Sounds have just announced a new tour, which starts 1st October. Get yourself to see this bunch before they’re soundtracking every US drama and slow motion replay on TV!

For those of you who’ve been enjoying our summery compilation, a number of the bands have now confirmed live dates for some of the summer’s biggest festivals . . .
As rumours of a huge recording deal continue unabated, Team Waterpolo seem totally focussed on making themselves an inescapable presence this summer, and are confirmed for Underage, V, and Kendal Calling. If you’re up in Cumbria for the latter, also look out for the wonderful Brandon Steep.
Handpicked by the ever astute Huw Stephens, Kid iD will be serving up their ‘invigorating sonic stew’ from the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s Leeds/Reading festival.
